Uchafbwyntiau’r Wythnos

Mae’r wythnos adolygu wedi bod yn cyfle gwych i’r plant i ddathlu eu sgiliau Cymraeg ac arddangos popeth maen nhw wedi dysgu yn ystod y 6 wythnos gyntaf. Roedd y plant wedi mwynhau sychu’r dillad yn y tywydd braf er mwyn gorffen yr ymchwiliad a darganfod ble sychodd y dillad orau. Roedd e’n braf clywed y plant yn trafod beth ddigwyddodd ac esbonio 'pam' yn hyderus. Roedd y plant hefyd wedi llwyddo adrodd sut roedd pobl yn golchi dillad yn yr hen ddyddiau. Roedd gennym ni diwrnod anturus dydd Mawrth gyda’r plant yn creu cwrs rhwystr a defnyddio iaith safle. Yna, roedd cyfle i chwarae gem gystadleuol o ‘Guess Who’ trwy gyfrwng y Gymraeg yn hyderus ac yn annibynnol. Mae’r plant wir wedi mwynhau defnyddio iaith pwyso a mesur yng nghanol yr wythnos. Roedd cyfle i arbrofi a defnyddio pob math o offer gwahanol eto. Roedd chwarae rôl yn y caffi yn hwylus dros ben ac mae’r plant wedi mwynhau'r cyfle i ail- ymweld ar thema yma. Maen nhw wir yn hoffi trafod bwyd ac roedd y plant llawn egni. Mae’r plant hefyd wedi mwynhau ymarfer darllen yr amser, enwedig ar y cloc enfawr. Mae’r plant wedi bod yn gyffrous iawn trwy’r wythnos i ddychwelyd i’w ddosbarthiadau. Mae Mrs Soper a Miss Stokes wedi mwynhau gweld nhw yn ôl yn eu dosbarthiadau ac rydym hefyd wedi mwynhau y cyfle i drafod gyda’r athrawon a dathlu cynnydd y plant ers dechrau yng Ngharreg Lam.

Highlights of the Week

Our revision week has been a great opportunity for the children to celebrate their Welsh language skills and showcase everything they have learned during the first 6 weeks. The children enjoyed drying the clothes in the nice weather to finish the investigation and find out where the best clothes dried best. It was nice to hear the children discuss what happened and explain 'why' confidently. The children also managed to recount how people were washing clothes in the old days. We had an adventurous day Tuesday with the children creating a obstacle course and using prepostional language. Then there was an opportunity to play a competitive game of 'Guess Who' through the medium of Welsh with confidence and independence. The children have really enjoyed using weighing language in the middle of the week. There was an opportunity to experiment and use all kinds of different equipment again. Role play in the café was great and the children have enjoyed the opportunity to re-visit on a theme here. They really like to discuss food and the children were full of energy! The children have also enjoyed practicing reading the time, especially on the huge clock. The children have been very excited throughout the week to return to their classes. Mrs Soper and Miss Stokes have enjoyed seeing them back in their classes and we have also enjoyed the opportunity to discuss with the teachers and celebrate the children's progress since starting in Carreg Lam.

Important Dates for Your Diary

  • THE WEEK AFTER THE HOLIDAYS: Remember that Carreg Lam is coming back to school on Monday, 05/06/2023. Ysgol Panteg has no school on that day - but the site is open for the children of Carreg Lam.

  • ON THE HORIZON: On14/06/2023, we will be going for a walk around the local area to continue learning the language outdoors. We already have your permission for this trip on your admission form. Therefore, you only need to contact us if you do not want your child to attend the educational visit. There is no cost for this visit. Normal lunch arrangements continue on this day. Remember good, sensible shoes and a warm, waterproof coat.

Enjoy the holidays!
